OGOM currently has two funded PhD students attached to the project which I supervise:

Matt Beresford studying ‘The Lord Byron / John Polidori Relationship and the Development of the Early Nineteenth-Century Literary Vampire’

Kaja Franck studying ‘The Development of the Literary Werewolf: Language, Subjectivity and Animal/ Human Boundaries’

I am also currently supervising a UH funded project from one of our high achieving postgraduates:

Jillian Wingfield ‘Monsters, Dreams, and Discords: Vampire Fiction in Twenty-First Century American Culture’

If you are interested in undertaking PhD study and would like to work in this area you can send me a research proposal of no more than 3,000 words. For guidance on how your proposal should be structured including subheadings please see writing a research proposal

Proposals are judged on their potential and viability and if I like what you submit I will contact you to attend the university and discuss your ideas further in an interview panel. To apply you should have a 2.1 degree, an MA with a high scoring dissertation, plus two referees. References will be required prior to interview.

I am currently looking for PhD students in the field of Young Adult Fiction and the Gothic but welcome research on all topics relating to the OGOM project. I genuinely would love to hear from you.
